Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an XML-based, open standard data format for authentication and authorization between two entities: a Service Provider and an Identity Provider. This means that you can use one set of credentials to log in to multiple different websites. Thus, it becomes much simpler to manage one login per user instead of managing separate logins to email, CRM software, Active Directory, and so on.
FranConnect Sky system integrates with SAML to enable its users to access the Service Provider's resources without the need to reauthenticate.
FranConnect Sky supports both: Service Provider and Identity Provider roles. It can delegate authentication to an external IDP by functioning as a regular Service Provider, and can also function as the IDP to allow other applications to authenticate using the credential information stored in their database.
